Where architectural vision and engineering performance meet
Specifying Unios keeps everyone happy: architects, engineers, and budget holders.
Why we love specifying Unios
Mark Herring (TechIES)
CEO of MHL
“UNIOS is a partner we value for both the strength of their product range and the way they support it. Their lighting is well designed, carefully engineered, and practical for real projects. Behind that sits a team who understands the pressures of design, delivery, and coordination.
It is this combination of great products and reliable support that makes UNIOS a brand I am comfortable putting in front of our clients and standing behind over the long term.”
WHY WE-EF
Six reasons specifiers choose Unios
There are good reasons specifiers keep coming back to Unios. Here are the ones that matter most.
Design + performance
Unios luminaires are built to satisfy two sets of expectations: the design intent of the architect and the technical requirements of the engineer. Beautiful design and careful engineering are not in tension; both are present in every product.
Value for money
Unios delivers design and performance that typically sits well above its price point, making it more straightforward to specify quality at an accessible price point.
Longevity & durability
Unios luminaires undergo rigorous testing, including operational and aging tests. As a result, you can be confident of the longevity and durability wherever you use Unios luminaries.
Responsive warranty
Unios has a track record of responsive warranty resolution and practical post-sale support. When something needs attention, it gets attended to.
Quick lead times & local support
Unios' HQ in Perth, Western Australia enables shorter lead times than European alternatives and provides a support team that operates in a convenient time zone.
Continuous innovation
Unios invests in genuine R&D. New product ranges emerge from a rigorous design and engineering process and existing products are continually refined. As a result, the range reflects where lighting technology is heading, not where it has been.
BUILT FOR BOTH
Designed for architects. Engineered for contractors.
Lighting specifications often require navigating two sets of expectations. The design intent of the architect must be honoured and simultaneously, the technical requirements of the contractor must be met. Products that satisfy one without the other create friction at every stage of a project.
Unios is built to bridge that gap. Each range begins with a consultative design process grounded in conversations with architects, consultants, and developers. That intent is then carried through engineering and testing rigorous enough to meet real-world performance requirements. The result is a product that holds up in a specification meeting and on site.

HOW UNIOS BUILDS
From design brief to finished luminaire
Every Unios product follows a disciplined development process. From the initial design consultation through to fabrication and testing, here is how the range is built.
1. Research & Development
Most Unios designers and engineers have spent a career in lighting. Each new luminaire range begins with a consultative design process, informed by conversations with leading architects, consultants, and developers. The result always delivers on the Unios product vision: beautiful design, high performance, and clear value.
2. Technology
With access to specialist R&D facilities, the Unios team designs and develops each range after a rigorous testing process. Digital tools then bring luminaires to market with integration into the Unios specification and project management platform.
3. Fabrication
Specialist fabrication facilities assemble, customise, and craft a wide range of interior and exterior luminaires. The production team handles everything from custom beam angles and fascias to complex linear configurations.
4. Testing & Assurance
Unios luminaires undergo operational and aging tests, including thermal chamber testing at 45°C. Coast-resilient powder coating is standard across the range. Products are designed in Australia to suit all climates and environments.
Specification, scheduling, and delivery in one place
Unios Toolbox transforms the lighting selection, specification, and scheduling process into a single, well-organised workflow.
